  • Getaway suggestions

Mrs jigg and I haven’t been away this year and we plan on taking the week of Thanksgiving off. Last year for our honeymoon, we went to London, Paris, and Rome for 2 weeks.

I have some idea where our next trip will be, but it hasn’t been decided yet and I’m looking for suggestions.

If you could go away for a whole week, where would you go and why? This is assuming that cost isn’t really a factor and the trip must be outside of the continental US 48.

Maybe a place you’ve been to before and you had a great experience. Just keep in mind that this is mid-late November and weather could be a factor.

  • Florence hands down but it’s a good year to go to Croatia or Turkey…

  • Asia! Japan or Hong Kong/Macao or SE Asia.

  • ooh lucky you! get it all done before kids lol!

i heard from a few ppl that prague is the most beautiful city ever. i always wanted to far away like india/thailand/bali, but if you only have a week, you’ll probably spend most of that traveling, so not really a great idea.

i also just saw pics from a couple that just got back from galapagos islands. CRAZY pictures! it would probably be an amazing experience!

  • If you only have a week, I keep seeing amazing photos and hearing about great things for Costa Rica from friends who were there for 4-6 days! But I think it ultimately depends on what your traveling style is and what the weather is like wherever you will be headed to in November.

  • I’m going to Australia in October! It’ll be the start of Spring over there.

  • if you’re planning within the states I’d recommend Destin, FL :)

  • Langkawi island, Malaysia.

  • Buenos Aires! My first international trip, with good food, a nice european/cosmpolitan feel, cheap, and you can still get away and ski/enjoy the country side.

  • BALI!!!! FUCKING BEAUTIFULNFKADSLGHDSLHHG

  • a week is so short to go out of the country but Brazil or el Salvador is nice during that time.

  • Australia! It’s summer there. Visit coral reefs, visit Steve Irwin zoo, buy some trendy clothes that will come into US fashion months later. I went during Thanksgiving last year. Amazing!

  • Bermuda or Aruba!

  • On the week of Thanksgiving, New Zealand is in late spring. It is right before the peak tourist season, although sometimes wet, the weather is warm, and accommodation is easier to get.

  • Southern France, or Paris with the ability to use a car. I really like St Jean de Luz in southern France. It’s close enough to ride into Spain. For Paris my favorite part was driving out of the city to visit Monet’s garden in giverny. The most beautiful place I’ve ever been.

  • Wow everyone is suggesting a different place. I persOnally haven’t been, but I hear that the Dominican republic is nice and fairly priced.

One of my friends always goes back to costa rica too.

  • Cruise the Mediterranean perhaps?

  • japan, simply because of the food.

  • Malaysia has some gorgeous islands
